True story: the night before our home opener, the production machine rebooted itself half the night. The board never blanked, the system restarted itself, and we learned about all of it from text messages. That's the standard.

Texts that include the fix

Every alert says what broke and the one step that fixes it. Written so the student worker can act on it, not just the engineer.

The board never goes blank

Feed drops, internet drops, doesn't matter. The last good pages hold, and half-written frames can't reach the LEDs. Ever.

Restarts itself

Power blip, Windows update, somebody moves the machine. Back on air about a minute after logon, no hands.

A watchdog that never sleeps

A separate process checks the pulse every five minutes, silently. Even a hard crash gets reported.

Knows a delay from a dead feed

Weather delays render as DELAY, not a frozen clock. Suspensions and postponements get caught before a fan sees them.

I run a Power Four football videoboard on Saturdays. I built GameSlate because I was paying for an out-of-town scores package and still spending my pregame checking boxes, and my game watching for empty logo slots.

It's run every week of the 2026 season on my own ribbons. When you call support, you get me, and I work the same Saturdays you do.

Do we need new hardware?

No. It runs on the Daktronics production machine you already have and writes to the content share your show plays from.

Where do the scores come from?

Live national scoreboard feeds, polled around the clock. Changes reach your board inside a minute.

What if the internet drops?

The board keeps its last good pages, your phone gets a text, and it recovers on its own when the connection's back.

Which displays work?

Anything Daktronics that plays images in a loop. Ribbons, fascia, corner boards, marquees. Layout comes from a per-venue template.

Can our sponsor stay on the strip?

Yes. Sponsor space is part of your template, so out-of-town scores stay sellable inventory.

How long is install?
